How and where did the Heenan surname originate?

Why did it spread to particular countries and regions more than others?

What are the stories of the individuals who bear the surname Heenans?

These are some of the questions I am trying to answer through my Heenan surname study.

This is a journey that is taking me from Ireland, through my home country of Wales, into England and Scotland. I've stopped briefly at South Africa and Australia and I'll be heading to Canada and the United States at some point.

On this site you'll find the results of my research.

You can search through census returns, records of people killed in action as well as births, deaths, and marriages.

You might even find a few dogs.

If you stumble on this site and you share my interest in the Heenan surname, I hope you'll get in touch to tell me your family tree or family stories. Contact me here

If you spot any factual errors, do let me know. I've tried to be accurate but might have slipped up here or there.
